Freida Pinto, the Slumdog Millionaire actress who starred with Dev Patel in the Oscar winning film, is set to become the latest face of Estee Lauder.
The Mumbai-born actress and former model will join Liz Hurley and Gwyneth Paltrow in a deal reported to be worth £200,000.
"Freida is hot property right now because 'Slumdog' has been a history maker of sorts," said Bollywood expert Taran Adarsh
Just two months ago, before Danny Boyle's acclaimed film picked up a string of awards culminating in seven Baftas and eight Oscars, unknown Pinto was struggling to get a job.
In the two weeks since Slumdog's Oscar triumph Freida's marketability has soared 1,000 percent, making her one of India's biggest stars overnight despite never having been in a Bollywood film. In the two weeks since the Oscars the one-time struggling model has been among the most photographed faces at Milan Fashion Week and has graced the covers of Vogue and Cosmopolitan magazines.
In her next film (production to begin as early as June) Freida Pinto’s will share screen space with none other than Hollywood heart throb Antonio Banderas, Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins in Woody Allen's next film.

Has Barbie moved on since her very public – and terribly shocking break-up with long-time beau, Ken? Sure seems that way.
Fabulous at 50, five years after her split with Ken, the iconic doll has been spotted out on the town with legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld – in doll form, of course.
The real Karl Lagerfeld carried around a Barbie-size version of himself – complete with his signature dark sunglasses and gloves – at the opening of Barbie’s 50th anniversary exhibit in the Colette boutique in Paris. Lagerfeld has also dressed up the gal of the hour, Barbie, herself with some signature, Chanel-inspired outfits.
Not that Barbie could get anymore chic.

Summer is the ideal time to bust out floral prints, wear enormous shades and let your hair have a break from the mounds of hairsprays, gels, defrizzers, mousses and cleansers that one tends to become obsessed with during the cold brittle months of winter.
That in mind, Simpson was recently spotted in the San Diego airport in a Maxi dress, once again made fashionable last year by starlets Rachel Bilson and Sienna Miller. In reality the Maxi dress, even if you are blessed with a Simpsonesque bone structure and super long limbs, does not work on anyone, at anytime.
Jessica might have looked darling if the hemline had been two, three, four feet shorter but instead she looks a tad too frumpy; take away the Louis Vuitton print and you have a blonde pregnant (I’m assuming because you can’t see any shape underneath that dress) lady on the way to the market to collect her week supply of incense, old grandma sweaters and jelly (trust me this is what they buy).

A friend of mine recently told me how badly he wanted a keffiyeh. When asked what a keffiyeh was, he said, "Oh, you know, those cute scarves with the houndstooth-y print." Feeling annoyed and not in the mood for an arguement, I quickly dropped the subject.
The keffiyeh's popularity as a mainstream accessory has grown in the past two years, but its true cultural roots and signaficance seems to have fallen into the background.
Rachel Ray was recently surrounded by controversy when she appeared in an advertisement for Dunkin Donuts sporting a keffiyeh.

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is set to launch her own fashion line in collaboration with French label ZOEtee's, famous for super-soft jerseywear and versatile separates. The capsule line will be named ZOEtee's Loves Gwyneth, and will be made up of jersey basics as well as some glam, 1970s inspired looks and pieces influenced by masculine tailoring, the collection will be unveiled to the fashion press next week in London.
With Gwyneth's fashion credentials we're expecting a luxe, sophisticated yet very wearable collection of instant hits. We're hoping she might have even asked her pal Stella McCartney for a few design tips.
All proceeds from sales will be donated to a charity close to Gwyneth's heart: London's Kids Company.
Fashion with a conscience: just what we would expect from Gwyneth.
